"For the past several I have visited my dear friend who resided in your hom. Her name was....She was 102 years old and had all her faculties except her hearing was poor. She was called home to God on April 2nd, 2008. She was always clean and well taken care of as far as we could see. She was no problem and loved by her care givers. Her care giver, Ms. Iris Diaz, who cared for her over the past few years was always so kind and considerate and giving to... I want to tell you that Iris is not only a caring, she goes the extra mile for all her residents in her care. It is so nice to be able to write this letter to say thank you to Iris and the staff for taking such good care of....I single out Iris for she is the example of an employee who does her job with love and I know sometimes it must be very hard to deal with residents. GOD BLESS YOU IRIS!
"I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude and sincere thanks to all of you who provided me with the best possible care. My convelescence was made much more bearable because of you outstanding dedication to people placed in your charge. Bridgette Brown was a phenomenal, deidcated human being who went that extra mile to relieve me of all the stress. I was compelled to thank all of you because in this day and age, you read and hear so much of how seniors and unwell people are treated so harshly. This is definately not so at Flushing Manor. COntinue to generate all the positive and caring attitudes as a staff and you will all be blessed."
"My name is...and my mother...was a patient at Flushing Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation on the 6th floor. A week before my mother passed away she and I both reflected about the care there at Flushing Manor especially with regard to the 6th floor. My mother's wish was to return for she missed the care. I had one friend comment how clean Flushing Manor is. She says that other facilities don't take the time to empty trash or clean the floors unlike Flushing Manor. I want to thank everyone on the 6th floor for all the time and patience that they had with my mother. Their kindness put to rest so many fears that had been impressed upon me by my family regarding the neglect at nursing homes. "
"While our sister.....was at Flushing Manor she was given the very best care and we would like you to know that we appreciate everything you did on her behalf. Leota needed a great deal of attention due to the seriousness of her condition and she certainly did receive the best of professional care. In addition, someone came at once the moment she called for help. Even when she didn't call, someone looked in on her at regular intervals. There were many things at Flushing Manor that are superior to other like facilities. The caring attention, the flexibility of visiting hours, the safety of belongings and yes, even the food, which was high-quality and allowed a choice of menu. Some folks called Leota, "The Queen." Well we know for sure she did receive royal treatment at all times. Thank you Bridgette for the loving personal attention you afforded Leota and to all the staff at Flushing Manor our sincerest thanks."
